Terms & Conditions
Last updated: Aug 2026 · Applies to Helpora Pvt. Ltd. and the Helpora platform.
Helpora Pvt. Ltd. operates a technology platform that connects neighbours for everyday tasks. We act as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000. Helpers are independent individuals who use the platform, and are not employees or agents of Helpora. This document applies to your use of the Helpora website and app, is governed by the laws of India, and the English version prevails wherever it is translated.
These terms govern your use of the Helpora website and app. Please read them before posting or accepting a task. They explain who is responsible for what, and how tasks are handled.
1. Acceptance of these terms
Helpora Pvt. Ltd. ("Helpora", "we", "us", "our"), which operates the Helpora platform, makes the platform available to you on these terms. By creating an account, posting a task or accepting a task, you agree to them, along with our Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Prohibited Tasks & Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines.
If you do not agree, please do not use Helpora.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older, legally capable of entering into a contract under Indian law, and using Helpora in India. One person may hold one account. You must not use Helpora if you have previously been permanently removed from it.
3. What Helpora is, and what it is not
Helpora, operated by Helpora Pvt. Ltd., is a technology platform that connects neighbours who need small tasks done with neighbours willing to do them.
- We are not an employer of helpers. Helpers are independent neighbours who choose their own tasks and hours.
- We are not an agent of either the poster or the helper.
- We do not perform the services that are agreed and carried out between users.
- We do not guarantee that a task will be accepted, or accepted within any particular time.
The agreement to perform a specific task is between the poster and the helper. Helpora verifies identities, provides task records and safety tools, and reviews disputes.
4. Registration, verification and accurate information
You register with a valid phone number. To accept tasks, you must complete identity verification, including government-ID (Aadhaar-based) verification and a live selfie check carried out by an authorised partner.
You must give accurate information about yourself and about any task you post, keep it up to date, and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately at contact@helpora.app if you think someone else is using it.
5. Posting and accepting tasks
- Describe the scope, timing, location and difficulty honestly.
- Do not add work at the door; update the task in the app first.
- Helpers must accept only work they can safely and competently complete.
- The arrival code must be given in person and never shared in advance.
6. Task records and completion
Helpora records acceptance, arrival and completion in the app. Both users should keep changes and important updates in the task chat. If a concern is raised within 48 hours, support may review the task description, chat, photos and account history.
7. Keep arrangements on Helpora
Keep task arrangements, changes and completion confirmation inside Helpora. Moving them elsewhere removes the shared record our support team relies on and may lead to account restrictions.
8. Cancellation and disputes
Cancellation and dispute steps are explained in our Cancellation & Task Resolution Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Prohibited tasks and conduct
Certain tasks may never be posted or accepted on Helpora: anything illegal or unsafe, medical tasks, handling another person's valuables or OTPs, licensed trades we do not verify, and more. The full list is in Prohibited Tasks & Acceptable Use. Behaviour standards are in the Community Guidelines. Breaching either can lead to task removal, resolutions, suspension, permanent removal and, where required, reporting to the authorities.
10. Ratings and reviews
Both sides rate each other after a task. Ratings must be honest and based on your own experience. Do not offer or demand a rating in exchange for anything. We may remove reviews that are abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, off-topic or manipulated, and we may act on the account that posted them.
11. User conduct
- Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against or endanger anyone.
- Do not impersonate anyone or create fake profiles.
- Do not misuse another person's address, photos or personal information.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape or overload the platform.
- Do not use Helpora for any unlawful purpose.
12. Intellectual property
The Helpora platform, including the Helpora name, wordmark, logo, design and software, belongs to Helpora Pvt. Ltd. You may not use our name or marks without written permission. You keep ownership of the content you upload (task descriptions, photos, reviews) and grant us a licence to host, display and use it to operate the platform and resolve disputes.
13. Third-party services
Helpora uses third-party services for identity verification, maps, transaction handling and messaging. Your use of those services through Helpora is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions beyond what the law requires of us.
14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that a task will be accepted, completed to a particular standard, or completed at all. The work itself is performed by an independent neighbour, not by Helpora Pvt. Ltd.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Helpora Pvt. Ltd. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with any task is limited to the amount you confirmed for that task.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Helpora Pvt. Ltd. against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the platform, or your conduct during a task.
16. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. Amounts held for active tasks will be settled or refunded according to the Refund & Cancellation Policy first.
We may suspend or permanently remove an account for breach of these terms, fraud, unsafe behaviour, repeated cancellations, or where we are legally required to. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
17. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, civil unrest, strikes, government action, or failures of internet, power or third-party infrastructure.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date changes, and for significant changes we notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Helpora after that means you accept the updated terms.
19. Dispute resolution and governing law
Disputes about a specific task should first be raised in the app, and then escalated through our Grievance Redressal process. Most matters are settled there.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [JURISDICTION], India have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Grievance contact: Uday Pavan, Helpora Pvt. Ltd., Andhra Pradesh, India.
